Old Stuff for New Hope
On the 12th of June, the Restless Beings team took the Old stuff For New Hope campaign to the streets. From the wee hours of the morning, like all the regular market traders, the Restless Beings Changemakers set out with their donated goods from our generous supporters to Brick Lane to become merchants for the day.
Think of the quirkiest, weirdest, cultural things to be sold and you will imagine the Restless Beings stall- it really takes the cake of being, 'beyond retro'. These things hold many memories from all corners of the world and are irreplaceable; statues, masks, wall hangings vinyl's to even Banksy-esq oil paintings (apart from the questionable Nelly Rap star figurine and various versions of the Wombat dolls) were truly valuable; the Changemakers were in the hub of the Sunday Market, hustling and bartering with the customers to try and raise as much for our human rights projects as possible.
We made a whopping £475.06 from the sales of these new and vintage goods. Along with getting AMAZING bargains for their purchases the customers found out more about what RestlessBeings does, and about the communities we work with. Many had never even heard of some of these communities, another reason why simple activities such as these are so important in educating our neighbours as well as the international community.
Many wanted to know when we were going to be back! Rest assured the Old Stuff For New Hope stall will be back, so plenty more opportunities for you to grab your bargain and to do your part for new hope.
The next stall date will be listed on this page so stay on the pulse!
