

Restless Beings hosted its very first event on the evening of 1 May 2008, launching itself into the public arena in order to bring to the public's attention the organisation's reason for being and the innovative way in which it works. With the first Project taking the organisation to Dhaka, Bangladesh, Restless Beings aims to tackle the issues that children in street situations endure on a daily basis and, more generally, to raise awareness of marginalised communities across the world.
This special event was in collaboration with the School of Thought to raise money in aid of those being persecuted in Gaza. In memory of the people who have lost all that they have. And in support of those still under the darkness of injustice and hypocrisy.
On the 19th August, surrounded by jungle murals and African drums, Jungle Braai restaurant in East London was transformed into a heaving hub for creating a change, as it hosted an intimate dinner with Restless Beings.
The evening of Thursday, 26th August 2010, at Jungle Braai, London, was an evening of restlessness—restlessness about the state of the world and the current plight of Pakistan. A restlessness that demanded unity and passion, powerful enough to deliver change. It is in this spirit that Restless Beings hosted their charity dinner for the victims of the Pakistan floods and raised a phenomenal £2,025 for DEC’s Pakistan appeal.
Set in an underground, Concrete basement, in Shoreditch, on a Saturday evening hip-hop and lyrical talent exploded on an intimate stage in the name of Human Rights! When Aruba Red tweets the Restless Beings 'Human Writes' gig to be 'The official Roots/John Legend pre-party' you know you're not going to be disappointed! With a massive line up of the most established and upcoming artists in conscious music, Restless Beings supporters were certainly in for something special!
With the symbolic green hand of change hung up at the front of the Rhythm Factory in Whitechapel, it was evident that the Restless Beings had landed and occupied the venue! Hip-hop was about to drop some beats to raise the volume and shine the spotlight on human rights all around the world. With the audience and supporters armed with Restless Beings signature lollipops and human writes goodies, the stage set, and artists eager to perform - Human Writes 2 - our annual Hip-hop for human rights gig was to finally begin!

Set by the river in the intimate Studio Lantern Theatre, over 500 restless beings, from varying occupations and backgrounds all over the UK came together as a united tribe to celebrate 4 years of restlessness at Kukusanya! Armed with Love, Light & Lollipops, a Restless Beings staple, supporters built up the excitement on twitter with the #kukusanya tweet-a-lot competition, reaching out over 165,000 followers, and were ready to get down to drum beats and feel good vibes!

Native Sun is a London based duo consisting of bilingual rapper Mohammed Yahya, born in Mozambique , South East Africa and singer-song writer Sarina Leah born in London with Caribbean roots. Joining forces in 2010 Native Sun was born fusing Hip Hop and African rhythms with the aim of promoting a positive message of Universal Peace, Equality, Social Justice and Environmental Change. Both artists over the years have received a great deal of international acclaim and publicity. Now together, Native Sun's sweet melodies fuse addictive head bouncing Hip Hop undertones, conscious bilingual lyrics and catchy hooks perfect for a climate in need of an uplifting message

Anthony Anaxagorou began writing short stories and poems at the age of 14 influenced mainly by both hip-hop and folk music until in 2002, at the age of 17, he entered and won the London Mayors Poetry Slam with his poem Anthropos. Following this he made a number of television and radio appearances where he read out various poems. In 2003 he appeared alongside Kate Tempest on 'BBC Youth Nation', presented by Richard Blackwood, where he performed a number of poems that highlighted many social issues all relevant to young individuals. He went on to feature as a member of the panel on the talk show itself which focused on issues such as racism, war, religion, drink and drug abuse, encouraging young people to speak out and voice their own personal views. After hearing Khadim sing in 2008, Mike felt compelled to befriend Khadim and form a musical friendship. The result led to their first album entitled "one". Mike Sajic & Khadim Sarr’s take on contemporary world fusion music is special beyond measure! Consisting of a sonic mish mash of instrumentation, melody and rhythm, influenced by music form across the globe.
Empty White Circles is a 5-piece Americana/Folk band originally formed by American born brothers Kevin and Sean Duggan. Now based in Oxford, the band was completed by the arrival of childhood friend Dave Royston and British members Calum To and Ricky Eastwood. With close harmonies, infectious guitar riffs and toe tapping rhythms, Empty White Circles offers Americana with a twist, plenty of volume and more pop-hooks than you could shake a stick at.
To make the most of the last available late-night-followed-by-long-lie-in combo of the Bank Holiday weekend, Restless Beings held it's third year anniversary shindig – Echoship - on Sunday 1st May (the date was a good reason too). The ship was full to capacity as 400 guests filed on board for the evening's entertainment. Some fantastic and very generous jazz and spoken word artists performed to this formally attired crowd to celebrate Restless Beings's good work and to acknowledge the universal importance of human rights, a cause the charity works tirelessly to promote. Sharply dressed revellers danced late into the evening aboard Embankment's HMS President, which hosted the 1920s themed event.
